Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum so hopefully I'm posting in the correct area. I have a 1960 PF dime that I believe is a DDO but I can't match it with any of the FS numbers listed in the master list. I am now thinking it may be hub doubling but sure looks like DDO. If it is DDO I will spend the money to grade if not its not really worth it for this example. Thanks for your help. Pics below....

Good afternoon,
With the pictures that you supplied, it definitely appears to be a doubled die. I can't see where anyone else has responded yet, but will be watching the post in hopes of getting a good answer for you.
Have a great and blessed day!!
Sincerely,
Alex

The motto looks interesting. But the date and LIBERTY look like MD. I didn't see any matches on the PCGS coins. But I would keep it safe for now. Got to look around some more.
Rest in Peace

Wow, this is a toughie. I at first said DDO for sure, then looked at Varietyvista.com to check the 001's. Your coin has the amount of a top pop DDO, so it should be there, but you're right, ain't listed. It sure does look like two different size hubs were used tho...?

Taking a much bigger look, unfortunately I gotta say it's MD and here's why. In this closeup, arrows indicate a motion hop. On the O, normal size has been reduced and smeared. This is actually 3x plus of bounce...first just tapped, second solid hit off-set, third smeared as die settled under pressure. You probably know, the proofs are struck twice, I say twice the chance for MD, maybe that happened here, a loose die that moved on both strikes? Have to see what Coop or John Wexler may say

Looks like there maybe some light MD on the west side of the devices. But the Motto looks like a strong DDO. I should try taking the color out. It might be hiding what is going on there?

Thanks, for the feedback. From what it looks like you guys are saying, I have both hub doubling and Machine Doubling. I'm still not sure what to think but for the $22 I paid for it I'm happy. Is there anyone else you guys think could help with it?
