It is a 1965 Washington quarter. I've been looking online for something like this, but haven't found anything similar. The quarter is lighter than normal and missing a lot of the nickel plating. What is this called? What do you think is it's value?

More then likely the coin was pulled from the ground. Something had covered it just right to apply toning or discoloration to only certain areas

It isn't a toning error. It actually has a lot less nickel.

It looks like a chemistry experiment to me; someone may have soaked the coin in acid.
