hello . please help with a quarter error? I'm not sure. I'm very new to the collecting of coins.. I am addicted to error coins.. Forgive me if I am asking green questions..
is it normal to have a 1995 quarter that weighs 5.1? It looks odd as well, it is kind of black.. I'm having trouble getting my pics to post..thank you for any insight...Oh its a 1995 d and looking at the rim it looks all one color not the normal two toned..

The target weight for that year is 5.7 grams. Not sure if 5.1 is within tolerances.

5.1 grams is well out of tolerance, but the mention of the blackish color indicates it could have weight loss from corrosion. Spec weight is 5.67 grams with a .227 +/- tolerance range. So the lowest in tolerance weight would be 5.443 grams.
