Very rare. In many years of searching pocket change, I've only found a 1964 dime. Besides Kennedy's, I think the only silver you will find is an accident.

In other words, a coin collector was going through his collection, forgot a few coins on the table and someone else picked them up and spent them.

I really don't think there are any "naturally" circulating ones left

Great find though!!

I work at a bank and I was really surprised how many silver coins I find. I have worked at this bank for a little over a month now and I have already found 6 sliver coins. Its so exciting, everyone thinks I'm crazy cause I always try to help the people who bring in large amounts of coin (lol I just wanna be able to look threw it)
Rest in Peace

I just found a 1959 Silver Dime a few weeks back. I find 3 or 4 silver coins per year(last year I had a run of 4 Quarters in a row including a solid 1938 EF40) and I don't actually "search" my change. It is almost always the different sound that alerts me to a silver coin. I think there are very few actually floating around but they are still out there to be found. What I find interesting is how few people realize how much they are worth over face value these days. Mike

Yesterday I was cashing in some halves at the bank coin machine. In the coin return hole I found a 1947 dime among other coins and tokens.

the most common silver coins you will find in pocket change are silver nickels, this is because the majority of the public do not know they are silver. Out of the other denominations silver dimes still occasionally circulate but thats only because of there size. If one merely glances at one quickly many people, especially younger people, may not recognize it for what it is and spend it. Ive never found a silver half or quarter from circulation besides those deposited at the bank I work at.

Awhile back, I got 2 1963 quarters out of a coke machine at work. I've also gotten some Susan B Anthony out of it before.

Going to the bank yesterday to dump my latest bags of halves I need a dime for purchase for exact change at the store. Earlier that morning I got change at starbucks. As I pulled out the dime. I realized it was a silver rosie! that was very nice. keep hunting and go through some rolls your will get some good finds. Also use halves when you can it throws the counter clerk for a loop. I use halves every day and Susan b Anthony and pres dollars. the store clerks love them.

I have actually found a few silver dimes over the past few years or so. In my case it always seems to happen when you least suspect it since I have never found one while roll hunting, but rather they were found at random as change. The funny thing is that I once found a bunch of US silver dimes when I was in Montreal.

I went to pay for my lunch the other day at work and received a nice 1942 D Mercury dime in my change. Not very often I see those in circulation.
