I don't know much about the market but I know a guy that is trying to sell 15 1909 vdb's for $8 apiece and they are in vg/vf or better. Should I buy these at this price? Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Seems like a fair price to me, but I would have no use for 15 of them.

vg/vf is quite a range, but if the group has few problems and leans towards better grades, that's a steal!
There will be good demand for these in 2009, and a dwindling supply due to a huge marketing push for 1909/2009 sets.
Good thing to buy for resale, imo.

I've got to go along with KurtS on that. Pending your age if you could hang on to coins like that for a decent amount of time, those will become a well sort after coin. Once the 2009's are out, there will be a demand for sets of 1909/2009 coins. If you look around there has been lately many of these types of sets poping up. Example is all three 1943,D,S Steel cents. Or One each of the different Nickels lately. Note the many types of folders for just State Quarters. I really think the people that make these will be just waiting for the 2009's to make those sets of 1909/2009 in any shape.
Also, you may want to try to haggle down the price if you purchased all of them.
