Picked this one up a couple of weeks ago. Finally got around to taking pix. Bought it cause I think the obverse die crack is interesting then noticed the 5 in 25 is re-punched. Gene

Impressive die crack. Odd that it does not go to the rim on either end...

That die was not long for this world after striking your coin. Nice crack. Also nice find on the repunched 5. Is this commonplace with Canadian coins? @kanga If I could be silly. When I read. Quote: Odd that it does not go to the rim on either end... Actually, that's just generally an odd place for a die crack. Normally they show up on the fields, not right across the deepest parts of the die. ...wait, how certain are you that it's actually a die crack? Maybe it's just a scratch or something?

Definitely a die crack as it is raised up from the surface.

Quote: Actually, that's just generally an odd place for a die crack Die cracks in the carved features are not that uncommon in early dies. The Zoell books are full of die cracks in crowns or between leaves ... but this one is spectacular
