the head shape looks like ... could it be caracalla? Elagabalus?

I agree. I think what you have is a Roman provincial with a cista on the reverse, something like this:

Unfortunately, it may be difficult to pin it down. There are several cities which used similar types and several boy-emperors to choose from!

this one looks closer in size( MM) and weight to my coin

Elagabalus weighs alot less it seems

Is it a better guess that its Caracalla?

A couple of Getas from Nicaea for comparison, in the right size/weight range. Upper is an AE17 weighing 2.89 gm.; Lower is 16mm, 2.76 gm.

If you had to choose, could it be Caracalla or Geta?
