Here's a new arrival...

Hope the attribution is correct, from the seller?

Gurjara Kingdom, Sindh, 570-712 AD, Silver,22/23mm 4.03g.
(Obv) Stylized winged bust of Peroz.
(Rev) Stylized fire altar & attendants.
The coin imitates the Indo-Sassanian coins of Peroz, and also sometimes described as"Hunnic" issued by the Huns in North West India.

Nice coin Paul, I haven't expanded my collecting into these just yet so I not sure of the attribution.

Very nice!

Yes, this is from the hazy beginnings of the series; before the first Gadhaiya coins, but after the Huns. Some attribute these to the Huns while Maheshwari calls this the first Gadhaiya. Personally I feel this is one of many dead-end branches and not a direct ancestor of the Gadhaiya. Probably the most distinct features are how the portrait is engraved mostly in lines, and the ribbons attached to the fire altar is held by the attendants and sags in the middle... on all true Gadhaiya coins it descends in a straight line about 15-30 degrees from straight down, and runs to the edge of the die.

As for the "who" of these coins, the Gujjar or Gujara people were originally from central Asia. Maheshwari claims that they arrived with the Huns sometime after the 480s, as slaves or mercenaries or somewhere in between.
