1974 D Quarter: Curious "dent"

Midnight Fenrir Valued Member United States 90 Posts	Posted 06/24/2008 12:40 am Well... I stumbled onto this quarter awhile back, but only just got my scanner working to be able to post it... As you can see, right beneath the eagles perch, there is a sizable portion of the detailing missing... it looks as if somone just wailed on it with a ballpeen hammer, except that there is no damage on the obverse to match it. Really catches interest on ebay when letters are missing as it can change the whole meaning of what was intended. With the missing areas on your coin, it would be something as an educational piece.
