The problem with saving up for a better one is that you'd be looking at basically double the price or more if one ever even became available in a slightly better grade.

Yeah, true. I was thinking of that. I guess it's really meant for people who just want that coin to fill the hole without too much pain. :)

Your title threw me. I went to the auction and saw 69K+ and I thought "ridiculous price for a 94 half dollar" I thought what is it a very rare variety? Went to the description and saw that it was a DOLLAR not a half dollar! OK that makes the price more reasonable. Probably still too high though.
