Folks, let me know what may cause this. The we trust is stuck odd on the coin. The rim looks raised.

That's massive Die Deterioration (die wear) from the die being worn. It's part of normal wear and tear on the die from overuse. There's no added premium to this. Worth face value, but you can keep it if you'd like for educational purposes. http://www.error-ref.com/die-deteri...on-doubling/

I thought this was called a misaligned die strike because it doesn't affect both sides. The obverse die was off a little bit when the strike occurred. I could be wrong though.

I sent Mike a note on this one. To me it looks like a MAD, but the issue with it on the rim?

There's no misalignment, only a " Ridge Ring" caused by die wear. Very common in zinc cents.

Thank you Waynoah83! This is common Die Deterioration.

Pretty cool looking, I have found many. But good to keep for reference and it's still in decent shape. Most of the ones I found were from the 80's

The 1980's were the best year for severe die wear ( Die Deterioration) on Copper plated Zinc cents. The U.S.Mont were notorious for overworking the dies. I've found severe Die Deterioration (die wear) on a 1982 Zinc Lincoln Cent two days ago. http://goccf.com/t/322204
