Very nice find Mark! You can see very strong extra thickness on the EPU. That's why it stand out so much from the normal ones. Was EPU your pickup point?

Quote: Was EPU your pickup point? First thing that I notice are the elongated dots, then the thickness of the letters. On this one the wheat stalk stems are also noticeably thicker but I forgot the picture of them.

That's pretty awesome Mark that the elongated dots were your pickup points. That's a good pickup point! Sometimes on these DDR's, the wheat stalks are thicker than the normal ones.

Great find Mark. I found one of these (1939 DDR) a couple weeks ago. I think the one I found has a little more wear than your.

Take image of the same section one at a time. Figure out which one it is. Then take a second image of your coin with the exact spot image/devices/angle. The better you can match up to that image, before you take the image the easier it will be to match it up with the site. After I spot which die it is, then I double check with matching markers to the correct die. Then you know you have it. Match die first, marker come second.

Them markers are great - BUT, it seems you have to have a darn near AU coin to see the markers - I have circulated cents and yes, all markers are worn off.
