The "greenish" is professional picture from some 5 yrs ago. What have they done to the picture ? It don't even look like the coin in hand. I mean... is probably better for selling purpose, which open a whole new topic of how legit some of those professional photos, as they look nothing like the coin in hand many times.
But back to my topic, as I want to find the "happy middle"...
Did they Adobe it, or maybe is not even a picture, like a scan or something ?

G'day, we were having a similar discussion on another forum just recently - with coin lustre verses detail. It's very difficult to get both at the same time. While one type of lighting will show the nice lustre better, it will likely lack detail, and the shot that shows detail will not look like the coin in hand.

The "pro" pic is using nearly direct lighting, while your pic is using light at an angle. There are literally an infinite number of ways to light a coin and you must decide which you like best. Take lots and lots of shots with the light at every angle you can think of. After the coin shoot just sit back watch the show and you will gain a liking for some angles more than others. Use different types of light too. Halogen, bulb, fluro, natural, anything you can think of. Diffuse it, use it straight, experiment. I did this and came up with the most bizarre setup imaginable.

I'll post some different light angles when I get a bit more time later...

As for the green colour, it's easy to get rid of in any paint program.

Leprecoin...the "professional" picture appears to have the white balance on the camera set too "warm" leading to a yellowish-green hue to the coin. Adjusting white balance can cure that. Take a look at my avatar...that's a silver 5 mark piece from West Germany that, in hand, has the same surface appearance as a silver US coin. By having the white balance way too warm, the coin appears to be gold.

Any decent photoshop user can make a coin look really, really good...or really, really bad with ease. Don't trust photos of coins unless you trust the photographer!
