I found this roll hunting. I'm new to this hobby and I don't know what this is. Any help would be great appreciated. I'm is much thinner than a normal Penny and it weighs 2.90. I am not very good with a smart phone yet, so please be patient with me, if I need to do something different to give you better images just let me know what I should do differently. Thanks again.

@Vikki1010, first welcome to CCF. Second, we typically call these "parking lot" coins, because the scratched are similar to what you see when a coin is dragged around on tar or cement. This is not a mint error--just damage. By the way, your pics are well above average--very nicely done.

To CCF! This isn't an error. It's Post Strike Damage (happened after it left the U.S. Mint). You can see the pushed over, scratched, and flattened metal. It's only worth face value since it's damage.

Thank you both. I thought probably PMD, but the waffle type shape of the reverse threw me a little.

and

Most people (myself usually included) will usually step right over a discarded cent on the floor or outside, especially if it looks like this. Once dropped, they can stay in place for days, weeks, or even months, just getting run over by cars and shopping carts.

That makes sense. I do the same thing if it is on the reverse! But I will walk a mile for a heads side up. My family finds that fact very amusing.

When you turned it over did you flip it or just picked it up and set it back down in a random direction?
