1964 Lincoln Memorial Cent Liberty Letter B Punched With A Cracked Die?

biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 06/26/2008 1:38 pm None of it has anything to do with the die used to strike the obverse. The B took a hit from something and was split and the N of IN also took a hit spreading the metal towards the rim- just post mint damage. Report this Post to the Staff

It looks like there was a problem with die specifically on the letter B. The attached images show that for the years 1961, 64, & 66 some Bs looked more like number 8. There are also not post mint damages on the Is. I have included a 1968 cent with normal B and I for comparison. junjie Report this Post to the Staff
