Has Anyone Seen This Kind Of Damage (PMD?) On A 1957 D Penny? Doubled Die Obverse / DDO ?

Could it possibly be a DDO? The appearance of the word GOD is what has my attention. Any comment is deeply appreciated. Thank you and have a great day/night. I know on the 1964 cents they enhanced that area but it may have been later in the runs for that year: But nothing else on that year. It maybe an over polishing issue. But not a die variety. Are other areas weaker on that area? The die clash happens more on the neck area for the wheat design cents. So over polishing is probably the cause. Thus it was not a die creation issue, or a die breakdown issue but a die abrasion issue. So it is a die alteration. Edited by coop 06/15/2018 06:46 am Report this Post to the Staff

The advantage of using a tablet is the ability to zoom in on areas quickly and easily. But usually if just one area is affected it is usually damage. Report this Post to the Staff
