That wait is crazy, something I thought seriously about doing when in my twenties, then in my 30's I still couldn't afford it, by my 40's I decided to give up on it, now I'm in my 50's I don't regret NOT climbing it, not such a big deal to me anymore. I still enjoy the books about climbing Everest, K2, etc, one of my favorites is "Everest: Mountain Without Mercy" by Broughton Coburn, incredible photography and a nice layout for a big book.
The other thing that made me question my want to climb Everest was meeting Beck Weathers from the infamous 1996 season. His story made me realize just how much things locally meant to me, friends and family that did not want me to go, how there were a lot more important things I still want to do than risk everything on a dream of maybe reaching the summit. If I had actually done the climb, it would have been around 1998-2003 when I was still young enough and could actually afford to consider it.
These coins of Tibet are really beautiful, thanks for sharing them.
