I've stumbled upon tax tokens before, but I'm still not really sure how they were used. This one though really confuses me!

They were used to pay taxes with, but it became difficult to use them. There is a Numista link for this one.

And I also found a site thoroughly explaining how they were used. The 'Old Age Assistance ' thing was just another way of saying 'taxes help pay for the elderly.' I'm assuming that means social security.

Thank you for the link to that tax token website! I've got a few others I have to research and this will save a lot of time. Didn't realize they made these all the way until the 60's, that explains why there's so many types!

You're welcome c: I always try to share whatever info I can find. I've had a few items that stumped me completely and all I had to go off of was ebay or Alumnis listings. It's nice to know there's a place where people can help in that area, and I like being part of that.
Rest in Peace

For the STTS (Sales Tax Tokens & SCRIP) just show me a picture of 20 different in a single photo and I can tell you if any of them are worth over 50 cents immediately.
