you can never fully trust what is written on the wrappers. I got a full roll of 1957 wheaties in a roll marked 1959 once. I would sort through them all. I am buying the wheat pennies today!

You need some help with some other dates you can't fill, list them here, and maybe I have some I can get to you - for market price of course. I have loads and loads of wheaties. A guy a work sold me some at about 2 for 1. I don't know what to do with them, I may put them in rolls and sell them, hold on to them, or sell them bulk. But I GOT A Lot! More than I need really. And, I have some early ones, but mostly just the regular ones, but I do have some others. Let me know.

Make sure to look for errors and varieties. Some bring a nice premium too. John1

I finished going through 5K of wheats this weekend and it had about 60 teens, 170 20s and the rest were 30s, 40s, and 50s (increasing with each decade). 31-33: just one coin, a 1931. Teens- just three with MM: 19S, 16S, 18D. Decent number of 20s with MM, but all commons. Lot did have 54, 54S, 55S in it- some lots I search are missing those dates. Also had "seeded" 9 Indian cents (all AG) and a few 1939 Jeff nickels "seeded".

Sorry, never say your question, PP. In all, I had a 15,000 Wheat cent lot, with about 18-20% pre 1940 in it. There were about 20 Indian cents (all AG cleaned or culls). Only one coin was found with <10 million minted, 33D. Very few mint marked teens (only a couple of the ultra-common 19S) were present. However, there were a lot of mint marked 20s and 30s (34-39) including quite a few 39D, and there were a surprising amount of 43S, 54, 54S and 55S, which are usually absent or rare in bulk lots I've bought. There was 1 1909 coin, initially it was "dateless", but I carefully removed the crud and some verdigras around the date to reveal that it was a 1909 (no VDB). I paid just under 5 cents a coin including shipping. Overall, I think it was a good deal, just would have liked there to be some more common and semi-common mint marked teens to fill those holes (don't we all). In all, I only plugged a couple of holes. The lot was very clearly search previously, but the previous searcher did not hoard the teens, 20s and 30s.

mycrob, were you informed they were searched or did they tell you they were unsearched?

Seller said he didn't search them, which may be true. But they were searched, and I think all Wheat cent lots have been searched. Some of them that seem nicer or have a few semi-keys is due to "seeding".

oh ok, I was wondering because ive started buying "unsearched" rolls on ebay and yesterday I received my first roll and it was open at one end? anyways I was just trying to figure how true those "unsearched" claims are.
