I am about to send my first submission of coins to a TPG, and I wanted to get your opinions on what I am sending!

I plan to send 5 coins, they are;
1961 D 25c looks ms66/67
1857 1c looks ef40/45
1921 S S$1 looks either au58 or ms64/65 VAM-2
1851 G$1 looks au58
1852 G$1 looks au58

Any feedback is appreciated!

Hello T5,
One thing to keep in mind is whether the coin is valuable enough to justify spending the grading fee. Your gold dollars may be worth having graded, if only because these coins are counterfeited and often cleaned. If you get them into PCGS or NGC plastic they become easier to sell and probably would sell for higher prices.

If the 1921-S Morgan dollar is really MS-65 it's definitely worth having graded. If realistically it is an AU coin it's not worth it, unless the VAM-2 variety is rare. In that case, make sure you send it to a grading service that will certify it as the VAM.

If your 1857 cent is a large cent, it's fairly pricy and probably worth a slab. If it's the less valuable Flying Eagle type I wouldn't pay to slab an EF example.

Your 1961-D quarter only lists for about $15 in MS-65. You would need to be very confident it will grade higher to justify the fee.

Just my opinion!

I have made one definite amendment, and that is I am adding one coin:
1798 1c looks f12/15

Also the 1857 1c is a flying eagle, I forgot to mention that!

Just be prepared to be disappointed. Sent in 13 coins 2 where not graded due to PVC contamination, 1 I pulled out of an unc. roll just so I could have an Idea as to what each of the coins was worth figured it would come back MS 63 came back as MS 60 (cleaned what was the mint thinking cleaning coins before they send them out.)

I put them in the mail today. Using economy tier, that would leave about a month to go!
