First of all the light is too low. It is creating shadows. Making it appear dented on top.

This is with my light almost all the way up. Had to turn it down , causing too much glare.

Looks like circulation has flattened the tops of the devices a bit. The zinc is not as strong and the tensile strength is not there. So the design suffers.
When I mentioned angle, I meant the height of the light source.best to have it above the coin, rather than to low. But I think you're on the right track now.
