There's always a possibility that the picture makes the coin look like this (for some reason), but I'd agree with the others. From the pictures, it looks like it has been harshly cleaned. There are fine marks/scratches going one way. I also agree that this seller isn't very honest, so I wouldn't deal with him either. If you do, I'd pay close attention to his return policy.

A while back, Vernon Coin (find them online) was selling posters of all the grades of Walking Liberty halves. It was a great resource for people who collect Walkers. Use it in conjunction with the ANA Guide and with PhotoGrade and you can get pretty good at grading walkers. However, realize early walkers are graded on a different standard due to poor striking. I also concur with Halfabustisbetter, this coin looks like it might have been tooled to make the details appear more detailed.

Hmm...the Vernon Coin main website seems to still be under construction. How much were those Walker posters? I've been using the ANA guide to grade, but additional sources is always a plus =)

Below is a link to a Walking Liberty half grading poster from Amos Advantage. I don't know if this is the same one that was offered by Vernon Coin.

Same poster, different source and better price. It is really a helpful tool if you are interested in Walkers.

I noticed on Bilbo's link for Amos Advantage if you subscibe to Coin World the "AA" price is less than $4. That is a great deal and they had other posters for the same discount. Thanks for the link!
