The gods were with me and I somehow won this big hunk for $2.72 (yes, really!)

Seller states 30.5mm diameter and 17.5g weight.

My (tentative) ID is that it is Gordian III, a provincial issue from Viminacium (Moesia) -- with a lion and bull on the reverse. Confirmation and details would be appreciated.

I can't read the year in exergue, it might be AN . I . or AN III?

Obverse appears to be IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG

Reverse appears to be PMS CO L VIM

Thanks!

Saw a similar Gordian Bull & Lion Sestertius on Vcoins in about the same condition, ascribed to
Moesia, (price U.S.$55).

Congratulations !
For $2.75, you are a lucky bunny!

Always nice to "steal" something every now and then ....... !
Certainly not the prettiest example but at that price the proper response might be "got any more ?"
The coin is a bit worn and some very minor scratching may have been caused by someone taking a steel brush to it.
But it has that thick (and durable) dark olive green patination on it.
I believe a long soaking and just an occasional "brass" brushing might give it a bit more detail.
The thickness of the patina allows for a more aggressive treatment.
Bare metal is to be treated with great care. But this is the type of patination that a bronze aficionado like myself looks for.
They can fake almost anything these days !
But they can't (easily) fake a well patinated bronze.

I'll pay you double !

You may notice the reverse edge at 4 oclock
A tiny chip shows you just how thick the patination actually is
