Hi Group, finally confirmed a find with matched Die marks, 1997 P Double Ear. I think I actually have two more but getting late and will match to confirm tomorrow.. Just by pics, can someone estimate the grade? I have no clue. Thanks again Not the best pics and maybe confusing, I will try to get better at this *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

Sorry, this does not look like the doubled ear. The die crack die markers don't match either.

What site or sites are you using to match markers? Here is CC's http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...ie_state=mdsRemember you need to find the variety first, then match die markers. Also, when you take pics try to match the setup like it is on the reference site. John1

Be careful with just using a reverse die marker, especially from CC. What they don't take into account that VV does is a progression AND REMEMBER that the die pairs can change. A reverse die may have been used with a DDO/RPM obverse then used again with a different obverse. Those die markers would then remain, see?

Use more than one site for references. CC's,VV and Wexler. But, you still need to find the variety first, then match die markers. John1

Yes, makes sense, gonna keep trying.. Should I make new thread for next attempt at the 1997, or post it on this one?

I see you started new thread, so I removed that picture from this thread. This thread was moved to Modern Grading since you are asking for a grade. The other thread does not ask for grading, so it was moved to the Variety section.

It's not the doubled ear Doubled Die Obverse. It's a normal Lincoln Cent. For the grade, I would say AU condition.
Errers and Varietys.
