This thing throwing me off! struck on copper-plated zinc? or Copper alloy? or what? by the way, I weighed it up on two different scales weight reads 3.11 By the way Names Rob been collecting mainly copper coins for about a year now. 1982-D-Lincoln-Penny 1982-D-Lincoln-Penny 1982-D-Lincoln-Penny

Nope. It's not a Copper plated Zinc Planchet. It's a Copper Planchet, since it weights 3.1 grams. Copper plated Zinc Planchets only weighs 2.5 grams.

It's a large date copper.

Copper ~ 3.1g
Copper plated Zinc ~ 2.5g

The 2 in the date is the best way to tell if it is a large date or a small date.
