Okay, I'm unsure of what the last couple of posts mean. 1933 $10 gold eagles were released, for a short time, into circulation.

Trivia time? What year did the 3 mints make only one denomination at each of the three mints. The only runs for the year.
What were the coins from each mint?

--

Show us a 1933 coin other than cents or half dollar that year from the US mint. The Denver and Philadelphia mints just cents. The San Francisco mint struck halves. That was all that were struck that year from those US mints. No nickels, dimes, quarters or dollars that year. I wasn't alive that year, but my grandmother died during child birth when my Mom was two. Sad story I know, but things were tough then.

--

Check again for coins from USMint . Only cents and half dollar from San Francisco that year.

I have to agree with spruett001 on this one, Coop..

Had you used some sort of qualifier such as "common circulation coinage"
et al I would give you the nod..

Yeah I know but it says 3 circulation coins and a commemorative half. The way I think coop meant was that one coin per mint for circulation is the only reason I came up with this year sometimes you got to think outside the box.

1933 Indian Head Gold $10 Eagles were struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Approximately 30 or 40 examples are known today.

Both the 1933 Eagle and Double Eagle (because of an oversight) were legally struck. A portion of the $10 Eagles entered circulation legally, including some of the 100 pieces sent to the Treasury for sale to the public (thus making them circulation issues). None of the 1933 $20 Double Eagles were legally released by the Mint except for two examples sent to the Smithsonian for the National collection.

Since these were not struck for commemorative or collector-only purposes, they should be considered "for circulation" and the $10 Eagles are legal to own, which has never been disputed.

Always pressing the limit on Photoshop. What new thing can I do next? The neat thing is after you edit the fields off a coin, then you can save and just move it onto a new background.
