Hey guys, I'm looking for any assistance that you guys can offer in grading these two coins. These two coins I have the opportunity to buy from a close family friend from his late mother's estate

They're both pretty common date mid VF- low XF, worth around $725 +- $100 or so depending on who buys and who sells.

This is assuming they're genuine, of course

Those are both S mint pieces. 1899-S, 1884-S. Each contains almost 1/2 troy ounce of fine gold.

They are both circulated and considered common dates so their value is almost entirely in the gold content. They look genuine but I'd go ahead and weight them. They should weigh ~16.7 grams each.

Current melt value is $613 in USD. As raw circulated pieces they are worth that amount.

The coins look genuine, but there are a lot of counterfiet gold coins that have been around a long time. You may want to consider making your deal contingent on the coins grading genuine by a TPG.

I would weigh them and check their diameter before purchasing them. They appear real from the pics.

I would throw an offer of $1200 for both if I were in your shoes. They are not Gem Unc pieces so essentially they are worth gold value maybe a little more...
