Hello,

Just wondering about forum members thoughts on the state of the Canadian coin market. Over the past few years I know some views have been pessimistic, but curious if there are some areas which have been picking up as I have noticed some higher hammer prices at auctions lately...curious about everyone's thoughts

The current exchange rate for US/Canadian $$ I think is affecting auctions and sales now. With the official published rate approaching $1.34 and heading toward $1.40 and the bank taking another 3% on an exchange, some Canadians are getting left somewhat behind ... US collectors have an upper hand.

I agree with Okie. It is becoming a buyers market here in the States. But common stuff is very depressed. High grade scarce material is bringing decent prices. Example is the recent Doug Robbins collection of Tokens sold by Heritage.
