1988 LMC.. Not Sure What This Long Crack Looking Thing Is Called..

I noticed this today and I'm not sure what this is? It's some sort or crack or something. Starts behind Lincoln and goes at least half way around the coin. I have learned anytime I have a question I can't figure out you awesome folks in here help me. Thanks for looking and any info helps me.

That's Cracked Cooper Plating. causing the Zinc to get exposed. It probably broke during the strike from thin Cooper plating.

It is considered split plating. not uncommon.

It should read copper plating and coop is a senior member here on CCF.

Starting in 1982, cents were composed of zinc with an outer copper coating, or plating, a really bad idea.

Yes split plating on the OP's coin, but it wouldn't surprise me if @coop had his own error named after him at some point.
