Just got back from Quebec with a lot of goodies in tow.
Most Olympic quarters except for the skiing ones. I assume snowboarding is the latest one. At least the latest I found.
1 2005 Saskatchewan quarter
2 maple leaf 2005 quarters,
1 92 alberta quarter,
1 2006 Breast Cancer
a few of the 99-2000 special quarters.

Loonies: 1 Terry Fox,
1 94 Memorial
2 95 Memorial,
1 92 Parliament,
2 2006 duck,
1 2004 Olympic,
No 1987-89 loonies...very suprising (yeah right).

Twonies:
1 Nunavut,
2 2000 Knowledge,
1 92,
1 2008 Quebec.

1 1947 penny w/o maple leaf. Nothing else of interest I think from Canada.

The fun didn't end in Canada. On the way back in Pennsylvania found a 1947-D US Wheat penny on the ground at an outlet mall and got an Arizona quarter in change. The first I have seen.

Numismatically a very successful trip. Many thanks to the desk clerks at the hotels and a few shopkeepers that went through coins for me. One shopkeep had a daughter that collected coins, so I gave her a loose JFK halve that was in the car as a thanks for helping me out. Got the 1947 George penny from there.

The Loon on the back of the 2006 Loonie might take objection to being called a "duck".

You're right. It is a loon. I should have looked closer. We only have them down here in the winter and only very rarely do they call down here. I heard lots in the Adirondacks. Love their appearance and sound. Doesn't hurt when you live in breathtaking areas either.
