I realize this is most likely Machine Doubling and was wondering if it affects the value.

Looks like MD to me. As to value,if I was collecting it as a type c reverse, I would want it to not have MD or anything else on it...IMHO.

If you have the coin graded, they don't consider it as a negative. But collectors like me would not be interested in a coin with MD on a doubled die. It distracts from coin to me.

Did anyone realize something special with these before? Sure they are type C reverses, but something else? They are EDS coins as they were not used long on the dies. I wonder how many more are like this. I'll have to see how true this is?

I was concerned about the doubling. I was suprised to find it at all. I had been going through my local shops bin of silver quarters and pulling out the good looking ones. Got this for melt value.
