1964 D Quarter Type C Rev. Has Doubling

But collectors like me would not be interested in a coin with MD on a doubled die. It distracts from coin to me. Did anyone realize something special with these before? Sure they are type C reverses, but something else? They are EDS coins as they were not used long on the dies. I wonder how many more are like this. I'll have to see how true this is?
