I agree with a struck through. Note how the columns and bays are affected equally. That tells me it isn't PSD. Good call guys.

It looks like it was Struck Through Wire by the looks of it.

I said string just based on the left end in particular because it looked frayed like a piece of string or thread would be.

If it were a direct strike-through it would be like a scratch, lower than the coin's surface.
But it is raised on your coin which means the strike-through occurred prior to this coin being struck.
The strike-through damaged the die which now has the "scratch".
That resulted in subsequent coins having having a raised ridge such as yours.

Sometimes fiber is also struck through on coins. From what I don't know, but I found a wad on a OBW roll one time. I called it my ugly cent.

Def a cool find!. Its got some size to it. @kanga, I don't think it's raised. It's def incuse. You can see how it cuts into the columns and part of the devices. I think your just seeing an optical illusion.
