My great grand father graced me with this passion...he is no longer here. So I'm asking for help. I found this. Seems to be missing clad on both sides. 2000 P south Carolina State Quarter. Any info will help. Thank you

To CCF! That's just Environmental a Damage from being out in the end. It's Post Strike Damage (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). Worth face value.

It is always good to get a weight on it if you think it would be missing its clad layer as it will be different than a normal coin.

Note how the highest devices are showing shine? That is because of what is on the surface of the coin coating is now wear off. Keep the coin in your pocket for a time and it eventually will turn back to the normal color. If it were missing the cladding, it would stay deep copper colored.
