I watched a coin video that told about a coin I was studying. Looks as if I studied too long. The errors are too small for me to show, but it appears the president on the coin has three eyes. He also has a Cud on his hat. I'm new at this and I didn't know what to do. Should I have it graded before I send it to Heritage?

Are you saying Heritage has sold the exact same error that you are now seeing on your coin?

We need pictures to help you.

I will have to get my son to send picture. My quarter has a Cud on the brim of his hat, aND it seems to have three eyes. Please be patient with me, I do need your help in learning what I have in my coins. Thank you.

So many of those coin videos online make such a big deal out of the smallest and essentially worthless things. Die chips and Machine Doubling (damage) are some of their favorites. I only keep die chips if they are either large, or in an interesting or unusual location. The state and ATB Quarter designs are prone to die chips, I think mainly because the design is not going to be used for long, so worrying about stress points on the die that will result in chipping are not really considered too important by the mint. But these videos sometimes make it seem you will get rich by looking for them. I don't think Heritage is in the business of selling minor die chips and the like.

You are correct Dave42. I emailed a photo of my quarter to Sam at Heritage. He told me very politely that it is of no value. He told me to keep searching, and I will.
