Just so it was "gold looking" (not gold) and a "thing" (not a coin), you probably turned a nice profit by selling it for $5.
How did you acquire this colorful object with words on it in the first place? If it cost you less than $5, I guess you did fine.

If a gold coin, no, but if earwax, yes.

Your post is the most undescriptive description I have ever heard. What the heck did it look like? If it is anything more than a novelty you sold it for way too cheap. -PP

G.O. I think you should get to the point of this with a sternly worded message to Shadow Creator, warning him of your powers. Oh well, we will wait for the punchline.

I sold it to a friend for $5....I talked to a dealer today and he said if it's real I'm an idiot....*slap*
My dad said it was real and that he bought it for a lot of money, lol

I think this thread is a joke. No body would sell a "gold" colored coin for $5. First of all, your Dad's a collector and it seems like you are so you would know a little better than the average joe off the street. Then you go to a dealer to ask about it? Why not go before hand? I think your a bored kid during the summer thinking your going to stir up some collectors by saying you sold a gold $3 for $5. Dude, try harder next time and make the story a bit less suspicious.

I win! Next time, stay away from the gold or anything old because most people are going to believe that anything that is gold or old (like a $3 gold) is worth a lot, even if it's not. Personally, I would have went with "My dad collects proof American silver dollars and he doesn't have a 2007 proof. So I saw that he had two 1995's so I took his extra one and traded it for a 2007 to surprise him. Then later on he said that someone stole his $5,000 "W" eagle? Should I tell him that I left his collection out and a thief saw it and stole it?"
