The golden color is normal toning and the silver is the zinc showing through.Just a damaged coin.

It is all down hill for the coin now. It is like a bullet wound. It is a cut that exposes the zinc. It breaks down. another illustration: A hole in your tire. You hear the air hissing, you see it getting flat. It is just a matter of time. So I guess it is cool to you.
Rest in Peace

Like that analogy of a flat tire, although it's more like seeing a screw head in the tread, it may not leak much... yet, but once the reactions of road and wearing it off take effect it really goes quick!

(took two weeks for that bugger to wear off in my work van)

Just a damaged coin, not an error.
