Both areas display MD ( Machine Doubling) common Occurrence on earlier Jeff's and it is actually considered damage.

Definitely MD. Can we see a full, sharp image of the reverse?

Sorry these pics suck. Need to take in day light. I can't get the glare off.

It's Machine Doubling, since the devices are reduced in size, and it's shelflike (flat) in appearance. http://www.error-ref.com/machine-doubling/

It does not look like it is FS (IMHO). Maybe just the pics or somebody switched the graded coin for this one.

It is definitely MD that you are seeing on the reverse.

Jst1, hard to tell but I agree. it doesn't appear to be FS....look at the area under the 2nd column from the right.

The verification search on PCGS for this coin does not include images.

OP, did you carefully inspect the encapsulation on the slab?

The coin grading companies just recognize that Machine Doubling is part of the strike on a coin. They don't dock for it. But serious collectors are usually more picky about this. Not a die variety. Just a graded coin.
