I found this in a old collection. One coin has some damage to bottom of coin and has a copper color within. The rim has a line down middle and has copper color, is concave as well.

The coin has been plated and altered. Although, if you can get a better picture of the reverse, that would be great. The reverse could have a Lamination error.

They look reprocessed, or plated, whether with copper or gold (doesn't matter). I am also interested in the lower area on the reverse of the first because it does resemble a lamination flaw. However, on a plated coin, the upside isn't much for that.

The reverse of the first one looks damaged. Looks like they were coated with something. It so it ruins collector value.

Thank you for your replies. I like the idea of a lamination error over plating. As the sides of coins are copper and odd shaped. Sort of concave with a line down the middle. It looks cool. Thanks c.c.

We always like/want our coins to be something we like them to be but unfortunately majority of time they are not.our expert, coop has spoken and has answered your question, it's up to you which direction you'd choose to go.
