Hi guys I found this messed up penny and I was wondering if it was anything rare or just fished out of a garbage disposal lol

Like John1 says, it's rot. I have a fruit jar full of " Half Cents" much worse than that. Found 'em dirtfishing.
Once they hit the ground, ziincolns have a short life span.

I agree that penny looks like it was exposed to an electric arc welder.

When I'm sorting coins and I find one like this, I do the mint a favor and put it in the trash can, why?, the bank sorter probably won't even take it back.
