I have this 1943 D LWC with a line that runs through the reverse. The line appears to be raised and runs a pretty good ways across the design. It is not a scratch as it is not incused. Thoughts?

Just a guess: looks like a hair or thread was laying on the coin for a long time and protected it from tarnishing in that area.

If it were a struck through issue it would be incuse on the fields and the devices. I'm not seeing that on this one. It almost looks like a discoloration on the planchet. Why? Don't know. It was like something was on it when the coated it with zinc, then it came off the planchet leaving the steel showing. But if that were the case, why didn't it rust? So I'm undecided what happened yet. The line appears to be all across that side of the coin. It looks like it continues through the right wheat to the edge?

I'm thinking some type of discoloration/stain maybe? I really don't know.

A strip of something sticky got onto it some how. It rubbed of the letters early on and was later remover. This is why the effect is not noticed on the letters except for the "T" where it appears it flipped over and reattached to the right end of the crossbar.
