Metal objects embedded in coin face and Reverse has its own issues. What do you think happened. Thanks for looking.

I'm thinking somebody did this to this penny and maybe attempted to sell it on ebay where you see many fake error coins.

I agree. The coin was intentionally altered. PSD. Reverse was sanded off. Probably then ran over in a parking lot a few times.

Definitely an altered coin. It's Post Strike Damage, since it happened after it left the U.S. Mint. The reverse was sanded off, and then it was in a parking lot for awhile. It got ran over a couple of times.
