2015 P Jefferson Nickel Die Chips - Coin Community Forum

southsav Pillar of the Community 2224 Posts	Posted 07/17/2018 8:55 pm Starting to look at new 2015 P bank rolls in a new bank box. In just the first roll, 8 of 40 coins had the 3 reverse die chips, left of the initials, last "O" in Monticello and the "S" in Cents. All 8 pretty much identical. Seven (7) other coins had one die chip in the last "O" in Monticello. The remaining 21 coins appeared normal, although I am unsure how to read and identify the DDO nostril for this coin. If anyone can post a good photo clearly identifying the DDO nostril I'd appreceiate it. I've seen the photos on VV but don't see the doubling. Maybe I'm looking at too many noses. I think the rest of the 2015 P rolls will reveal pretty much the same results. Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

southsav Pillar of the Community 2224 Posts	Posted 07/18/2018 2:40 pm With the gracious aid of Mr. James Wiles, VV, I have a much clearer understanding of the 2015 P DDO-001. As stated on the VV site for the 2015 P, the doubling is: "Strong spread Northwest on Jefferson's Left nostril" I'd been looking at so many 2015 P's I was blind and could not see the forest for the trees. So, anyway, here is one of VV's photo of the 2015 P doubling, I've added a red arrow which points directly to the DDO (the NW area of the left nostril). Maybe it will help others.
