Neat setup in my county.

"The Montgomery County Police Department has designated Exchange Zones for residents to complete online transactions (LetGo, OfferUp, Craigslist, etc.).
This Exchange Zone program has been implemented to help reduce and deter crimes such as theft, robbery, and fraud."

Then there's a list of places, mostly at police stations.

Considering the cost to implement (nothing or almost nothing) this is something you might want to put to your local authorities.

That seems like a good idea, but rather unfortunate that it has to be done. I would guess that would-be criminals would be reluctant to rob someone inside a police station.
Rest in Peace

I still wouldn't use craplist, ever! Fortunately in a concealed carry state where previous "escapade " at a Subway inside a Lowe's, cameras all over, was still attempted to be removed of my bags of wheat cents I was selling. Perp preferred to leave with family jewels attached...

Yes, probably wouldn't happen in a Police Station, but even there, have doubts... Stupid people are stupid for a good reason...

Even if the transaction itself is done in a safe place, who's to say you're not going to be followed home?

It's a reasonable idea if you're buying a jacket or concert tickets, but for anything of value, no thank you.

Hi, Kanga. Just a question from what you quoted "...Exchange zones for residents to complete online transactions..." This refers to a designated location for delivery of goods purchased by the buyer or all online purchases from initiation of purchasing up to the delivery of goods? Sounds like a monitoring strategy. Crazyb0, I am sorry you & your wheat cents went through that kind of incident.

Making a transaction in a police station sounds great. However, imagine it thousands of people started doing this. Sort of a busy place and kind of irritating for the police don't you think. And then too, even there a crime is possible. I remember when I was a kid a nearby police station got robbed. Criminals pretended to be construction workers and walked all over the place and no one paid any attention to them. And as already noted, what about on the way home from there? My neighbor uses Craigs list all the time. Although he and a friend got burned real bad one time buying a truck motor via that system.
