I posted about one of these before but it got taken down by ebay.

But I am seeing more of these "USNAF" slabs but with brand new accounts.

I can't find ANY information about these slabs. Not only that but this organization does not seem to exist.

I found some old threads about it. It's an old slab company from the 80's. Wasn't around long. It's desirable to slab collectors.

$87 so far for a $3 coin. Obviously it's a much desired strange old TPG.

Is there a TPG for slab grading? How many scratches allowed for a MS65.5++ slab. So really a slabbed slab would have a coin inside it. And then you could put a sticker on it too, verifying the decision of the TPG. So doesn't that make it graded by a FPG (4th party grader)? I'm so confused.

The slabs look like Capital Plastic holders.
Add a bit of fancy looking labeling and -- voila -- there is another way to scam collectors.

As mentioned in the other topic that I linked above...

It's a rare company's slab, and an unlisted sample slab as well. You have to remember in these cases it is not the coin that is the collectible and the object of desire, it's the slab.

There's no scam going on. Slabs are collectables in their own right which a number of collectors enjoy collecting from the various companies and/or the different generations that have been used.

Not a scam. Many people collect slabs. Conder101 on CCF is a slab collector.

I agree. Denigrating anyone's choice of collecting type is judgemental at best.

I think some confusion here.

1) ebay us removing these. Why?

2) Why are suddenly multiples of these being posted from different sketchy accounts?

3) Besides an old thread on here that provides zero sources: I see nothing to backup claim these slabs are legitimate. Nothing. They preport to be from this organization that I cannot find reference to ANYWERE.

I think we have a scam here.

There are fake PCGS and NGC slabs out there, so someone might fake these if there is a market for them.

I am not saying these are fake or these links are a scam since I do not know a lot about them, but it is worth discussing.

I found a couple of other old references, so I figured it best to add them here for a more complete topic. This is apparently when Conder101 first learned of their existence:

https://www.NGCcoin.com/boards/topi...tified-coin/

This is from CCF and adds one piece of important info:

http://goccf.com/t/249724

So, if John W. Blumhofer is living and able to be located, we may find out much more about USNAF.

Edit: I may have found an address for him...

I wouldn't call an account sketchy just because it's new, every account started as a brand new one at one point.

As for why they're popping up there's countless reasons ranging from everything from they just wanted to sell something to they saw the price of a sale/read about them and are selling now that different slab types has become more popular.
