Nope, that's incorrect. It's not a scratch. It's indeed a nice Lamination error. Very nice find and congratulations!

Yes based on the jagged shape and lifting surface in some areas, this looks more like a lam to me than a scratch.

Yeah it's a de-lam...you can see the metal is pulling away and goes over the "scratched/indented" area. Nice find for over 90 years old.
