Dear members,

About 9 months ago I inherited a Omani coin/medal. Unfortunately after surfing the internet and mailing the Central Bank of Oman (see below) I still don't have a clue of what kind of coin/medal it is.

After my mail conversation with the Central Bank I tried to contact the Ministry of Posts, Telegraph and Telephone directly, unfortunately with no success (since their mail address isn't correct).

Does somebody here have any clue on what kind of coin/medal this is?

MAIL TO CENTRAL BANK OF OMAN
I am writing you in hope you as the most knowledgeable actor on Omani currency could help me to confirm the possible Omani origin of a coin I inherited about 5 months ago. I do understand that one can never validate a coin through the internet. However, after having searched all internet for it's possible existence I couldn't find one source leading me to more information on the coin. Therefore and all I ask is if you could provide me with the answer if there is in fact such a coin ever issued (as shown in the attached pictures) and if so what kind of coin it could be. Thank you.

RESPONSE BY CENTRAL BANK OF OMAN
Dear Sir,
This coin is not issued by the Central Bank of Oman, and has no legal tender value. It seems like a medal issued by a government organization in Oman for a certain occasion.
We have totally no details about this medal.

@ Jbuck, thank you very much for moving my post :-)!
Funny that I have already been reading other topics on the forum. Quite impressive to see how much knowledge is gathered here.

to the CCF.

In my opinion, the CCF has a "critical mass" of members with so much expertise that this expertise itself attracts (or keeps) members.
