We actually traded some of our silver towards a 1998 S Matte Kennedy. There was some other stuff involved in the trade as well, but that's what we mainly use the silver we find for, trading material for other coins we need.

I am financing my coin purchases with the 40%ers I find. I'm trying to hoard the 90%ers but I know that I'll end up dumping some of them when I get ready to add the Mercury 16d to the collection. This will probably be my next major purch ASE

Hoard? At some point it will be barter material, maybe.

Long term savings, let's say.

And I go for purty, Walking Liberties, Washington quarters, Commemorative halves, Mercury dimes.

Don't tell the wife about the $50 I just spent on a Monroe Doctrine half.
