Okay so I am a novice to medal/coin collecting+ Ilm new to this site ( I just signed up and I have come across this medal which I can't find on google (yes I use google to find things since I am new)... It is roughly the size of a half dolalr and is a faded gold color with Dwight D. Eisenhower on the front. His name is above his face with 1958 to the left and 1961 to the right. Below his picture is the text 34th president of the United States. On the reverse of the coin is a bio, which states... Dwight D. Eisenhower born OCT 14, 1890. Nicknamed "IKE" popular hero of World War II, aided in arrangeing the Korean Truce, first President of all Fifty States, Died MAR 28, 1969.

Does anyone know its name and general value?

Name: Ike medal
Value: not much

Most commemorative medals like that were issued by private mints and don't really carry any numismatic value. They are collectible though. I collect WWII types of coins and former generals of WWII fall into that category for me.

Got pics?
