This 1943 steel LWC appears to be a DDO, doubled eye lid. I do not find this listed in Wexler or VV. What say the experts? Coop & Tanman, I took some different angles, hope these are okay to be able to make a determination.

I need to see the date area. I see an issue with die movement after the strike. If it is on the date, that maybe what it. MD. The reason I bring this up is that it appears above and below the eye. A doubled eyelid would show either above or below. Not usually both. I'm on my phone now and can't search to see if it is listed or not. So more images might help .

Not necessarily, DDO-010 has a doubled eyelid and slight doubling on the 9. If there is doubling on the date, we shouldn't immediately dismiss this one.

The mark above the eye looks a bit different than the extra eyelid. That may be a die scratch. And there is a tripled eyelid known for this date that has an extra eyelid above and below the main eyelid, but this coin doesn't match it.

I don't think it is MD. I think it is a doubled die and DDO-010 and DDO-017 are the closest matches.

Thus the need to see the date as well. On this one there is MD above the eyelid on the OP's coin. Both dies show the same raised areas below the lower doubled eyelid. I made the comment about my phone as I could not check for listings for this die on the phone. (It only allows me to do one thing at a time. On my tablet I can do more than one thing at a time) But when I post, I want to know all the available information, but couldn't give it at that time. (Seems odd that both dies shows the same mark below the lid?)

John Wexler doesn't have this one on his site. (Several die numbers without showing the dies)
