You're correct. It's Machine Doubling, since the devices are reduced in size, and it's shelflike in appearance.

You're very welcome and no problem! You're getting better at this everyday. Just remember, it takes more than a day to learn all of this stuff, so there's no need to worry. It took me a couple of years to learn all of this stuff.

Not a doubled die, unfortunately.

Well, not really. Coop explained that the mintmark can have MD and the date can have the real doubling. So going off the MM isn't 100% right all the time.

To me it is. If the MD on the date matches the MD on the mint mark, to me it is 100% MD. I;ve yet to see a dual variety with a RPM and hub doubling in the same direction. They are usually in different directions on the pre 1989 coins. On the 1990 forward coins, if they were the same hub doubling on date and mint mark, they are a doubled die. Only one year I know of that this so far has happened.

Description: A close Class V CCW spread from a pivot at about 1:00 shows on IN GOD, LIBERTY, the lower folds in the vest, the mint mark, and on the left side of the digits in the date.

The only one I know of.
